General discussion on choosing and keeping corals.

What New Treasure is This?

Postby Rychek » 04 Feb 2009, 20:43

I've had this Zoa Rock for a couple months now and I knew it had an old hard coral skeleton on it when I got it, but this evening I noticed color and tentacles on what I thought was nothing more than a skeleton. Needless to say I was excited, but I have no idea which coral this is. It looks like a small LPS of some sort. What do ya'll think?

Looks like it's time to frag the Zoas out of the way so the little guy can grow. Image

I was just going to say that!

I agree with Gary, that it looks to be a favia species of some sort! A sweet free coral, it looks awesome too!

I like it quite a bit. I'm looking forward to growing it out so I can see it without having to get right up next to the glass though. :)
