Hey Mort!

I was looking on foster/smith and saw the Filstar XP3 for up to 175g for $169.99. It has 3 media baskets.

Are you just looking for a cannister? Do you like the power filters?

You could go with a smaller cannister like you have and add a power filter aswell? I had only one FW tank, so I'm not the best guide for filtration for them. :)

was up man, havnt talked to yall in a while.

im looking for a canister since there the powerhouse of filtration imo. plus i only got room for canisters hehe.

but that was indeed one i was looking at.

I wana go head firstthis roound and get everything right. and if algae shows back up ill have to punch it in the face ;)

edit:

i am not familioar with media baskits. just cartrages. lie, slip out and slip new one back in. Could i get a description. im assuming liek a water permiable basket with teh media i see on teh site. bio balls, ect? am i correct or way off?

if so am i able to put carbon in one of them to keep my water crystal clear?

i will go for that so if i could get more info, but i will prolly go for xp4 (its imposible for you to over filter........nows were you tell me im wrong ;))

seeming as i am king of n00bs in that area. what medias do you recommend. ill assume 1 per area. bio, mech, ect.

Mort,

If you can afford the XP4, go for it! Yes you can put any media in them you want. Carbon in one, bio in another. And you can change it up as you need. Just need to keep them cleaned regularly....
