Hello everyone....

well i think i have a problem, this morning i did a waterchange and added my phosphate reactor... and well stuff looks bad.... I had clean hands and all that good stuff, i let the water mix for 30 hours, water params seem ok, ph is low as always.... but anyways, now my xenias look like crap, and my 6line wrasse is acting funny, hiding, breathing faster, fins raised.

Bla, what happened, could the phosphate reactor be doing this?

I let the water run clear before adding to tank and all that stuff....

help me!

How much media did you use?

The media should not effect your fish. It could effect your corals if you use too much in the beginning and strip all of the phosphates out of your tank fast. The algae within corals actually need some sort of phosphates to grow.

If your fish are effected I might think it would be the water change you performed....

ya, im guessing it was the water change... dont know what the hell happened.... did everything as normal... i guess i can try to put her in some fresh saltwater, see if that helps her.

im skimming wet, nothing has come out yet....

............ she is laying down in her fresh salt water.... that pretty much tells the ending of her...

new pretty much first water change with it, i used a few cups in my last water change.... im gonna mix up some more tonight, and hopefully get it in later tonight to help fix whatever the problem is...

mandarin and clowns are acting 100% normal, my chromis is acting pretty normal, and my damsel and blenny are acting funny compared to the normal fish they are.

So should i change like 5 gallons of water tonight?

everyone seems to be ok, my damsel is still breathing alittle fast, but he is a champ, he has been in there since day 2 of water being in the tank. i dont want to loose him, and my xenias, i could care less about to be 100% honest they where 15$. but i dont want to loose any more fish.

Well I would mix up some of that fresh SW and run tests on it first. Maybe you got a bad batch of salt or something. Thats about all I can think of....

Sorry to hear about the wrasse. It happens to the best of us! Keep an eye on the rest of the fish. I would wait a good 18-24hrs of mixing before adding in any more freshly mixed water. The unmixed salt can do more harm than good at this point.

Do you have any carbon that you can run? Maybe some chemicals got in your tank....
