2 oscars/2 parrot cichlids fighting

Postby lin » 11 Feb 2009, 16:50

I did a w/c yesterday, nothing new or differant. Later on in the day, I had noticed that all 5 parrot cichlids/2 green terrors/and the 2 oscars were very active, usually I dont see much of them.

After awhile the 2 oscars (about 5"long) were what I would call dancing, going round and round each other. Then they had their mouths open (they got big mouths!!!) towards each other, then an all out and out fight. One ended up down in the corner, but was fine in a few minutes. so ok, oscar gonna have eggs.

well.........

Towards evening, I noticed 2 of the parrot chichlids doing the mouth to mouth and fighting thing. They are about 4 to 5 inches long, and was not the oldest of the bunch.

I heard one of the fish bumping the top of the aquarium tank top last night, and I still dont know which one does that, so I assume all is well.

What on earth caused the fish to get in a "love ya long time" mood?

Dont even try to tell me its Valentines arrows time.

Ok, it must have been cichlicupid.Image
Waterchanges can change the params to the right "Love ya long time" mood, my cichlids use to do this all the time after a heafty waterchange.
