NEW TANK!!!

Postby codyren » 05 Jul 2009, 19:32

Well ladies and gentlemen, I finally put a hold on a tank!! I couldnt pass it up, I was planning on getting anywhere between a 90 to 110 gal. But my LFS just told me they have a customer bringing in a 125 gal dual drilled to sell for a really cheap price! So I am getting it! Just the tank, but I figured since its already drilled, I cant pass it up!! So I am all excited! It was a little bit before we had planned on buying a tank, and my gf is not very pleased with me about it but I had to splurge!!!

Nice score!

Get used to the GF being upset... You will hear things like, " What are you doing?" "Why are you ignoring me?" " Is your tank more important than me?" ;)

be thankful it's still GF... once it turns into wife, it's no longer "do you love me or the tank more"... it becomes "i know rennovating the kitchen wont cost nearly as much as your tank!" Image

Seriously though - most of the things cost the same regardless of size (you still need refractometers, test kits, etc etc) and lighting/filtering a larger tank doesn't necessarily cost more, and you can save ALOT of money in livestock that survives because of a larger, more stable setup. My wife was actually more concerned/unhappy about my running a nano then running a big tank - she's seen me lose over $300 in fish and coral frags within 48 hrs in the nano, but I've never lost that much in livestock over the years I ran the big tank.
