Ice Blue and Jewel CIchlids

Postby dj-lucky » 08 May 2009, 08:39

Hey, after waiting a while and getting my tank cycled i have recently added a rubbermouth pleco, ice blue cichlid, and Jewel Cichlid. Looking at the store the ice blue seemed to get along with other fish fine and while it is a little bigger than the jewel its not much bigger. However the Ice blue has been bullying the jewel to the point where it can only stay in the very top corner of my tank confined to that space. The ice blue also has been knocking over all my scenery and even dug my gravel so that it could swim under this giant pot i have as a extra entrance. I am wondering is the digging and destruction of scenery mean he is bored? I have alot of extra scenery i bought that i thought would be good for more hiding spots, but i feel bad that my jewel is stuck to literally a tiny corner by my filter and not allowed to swim around at all by my ice blue. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated, would getting a third less aggressive cichlid help or even another jewel?
Thanks in advance
